Like the CBT, the theory test has to be taken before you can take either your Restricted Access or your Direct Access tests.

It can however be taken before OR after the CBT.

It is taken through the DSA at one of their theory test centres and can be booked:

• Online at www.dsa.gov.uk and then follow the menu for theory tests and motorcycle theory tests
• By phone on 0300 200 1122 (when you get through you will be offerred several options - LOOK FOR;- for a motorcycle theory test.

HAVE YOUR DRIVING LICENCE AND PAYMENT FACILITY (eg debit card) WITH YOU AS THEY WILL NEED YOUR DRIVER NUMBER AND PAYMENT BEFORE THEY CAN BOOK YOUR TEST.

There are books and practice discs for the computer available from many outlets (eg Supermarkets, Halfords, WH Smith etc). It is advisable to get hold of one of these revision materials as the test is not as easy as many people think.

Theory Test

The theory test consists of 50 questions and 14 video clips and costs £31.

Once you have passed your theory test you are ready to progress. RiverView has hundreds of pre-booked tests in the diary and can usually get you on your ministry test within 2 weeks of that theory test certificate being handed to you.
